The Auto Trunk pulldown has stopped working on my 94 Deville. Anyone have any suggestions about what may cause this?

 

have you checked anything...... fuses, power to pull down, etc......? was the trunk slammed by someone dont knowing it is a pull down?

popped the trunk but when I went to close it wouldn't catch and pull down. Appears the hook did not return to the up position. After a few minutes it came up on its own. Later when I popped the trunk it did the same thing so this time I just thought I would see what happened if I tried to start the engine. The engine wouldn't start and the display told me to "Wait 4 minutes" and it counted off the minutes then the motor returned the hook to the up position. What does that sound like I should check?
