hesitation under accel

hesitation under accel

My 2000 Deville has a problem with accel. when I floor it it dosent downshift sometimes and smells horrible! like sulfur! I heard it could be faulty catalytic converters? anybody got any ideas?

SES light on, off, or flashing? Codes? Cat.conv. is possible as well as engine over fueling.
