Default A/C Problems on 2000 Deville...Need Help!

Say fellas! Im new to this forum. I've hadmy 2000 Sedan Deville for a month and now the a/c will not come out the dash vents. It only comes out the defrost and floor vents. Also when I turn on the car I hear a clicking noise coming from inside. Does anyone have any ideas about this? Are there any links to schematics or wiring diagrams on the net for lac's? I really appreciate it if anyone can help.

I currently have the same problem. A clicking noise from under the dash, now no dash vent air flow. I read in some other posts that the problem may be a door motor. If so where is the door motor and how do you get to it. I have the bottom of the steering wheel area off, but the clicking is coming from up in the middle part of the dash. It was sort of loud, but now I can barely hear it.

I started having this problem about a month ago. Now the driver side window isn't working, and of course in the down position!

Question, what steps to remove the door panel to see if this is something I can fix?

A/C most likely needs mode actuator. Dash needs to come out, not a job for someone of limited experence.

Door trim panel - they are expensive if you make mistake. There is a screw behind cover near inside release handle, and one under switch panel. Pull out perimeter of panel and lift. Disconnect harness. Press in centers of retainers holding weather barrier to remove. To reinstall panel remount clips and harness connector to panel. Re-install panel.

Okay- it wasn't clear to me where the screws were (to remove the door panel), so I went to Half Price Books and bought a Haynes Manual for $7.95. It has great photos to make it clear as water where all the 'I gotchas'. Good detailed pics on how to remove the dash to fix the AC vent problem too.

Just in case you can't find a manual, I'll explain as clear as possible. 1) Pull up the lock button, a small metal clip at the base of the button- just pop it up and she slides off. 2) There is a small plastic plate behind the chrome interior door opener, flat head screw driver pops it off easily, then remove one plastic screw. 3) The other area is the control panel (mirror adjustment area)-- this is a little tricky, so be careful not to mar the door. Put a flat head screw driver on either end and lift up. There are two metal clips onboth ends holding it in place. Once you get the door panel off, there is another cover that has to be removed. Several plastic whiterivets need to be popped off. Good luck removing them without breaking- I think I had 3 that survived. Then 2 plastic clips withscrews holding them in place. You'll need a star type tool to remove these two screws (sorry, not sure what the technical name is, but I have a set).

BTW- carefull of the window trac once you remove the secondary cover. That sucker is sharp as a razor blade. Yep, I sliced my thumb wide open.

Now I need to but the part and replace. Looks sort of tight, but shouldn't be too difficult.
