Hi guys, as you can see I'm new here about acouple mins ago. I have a issue with my 2000 deville (base model), I've own the car for about 1year now and has been running fine up utill yesterday from my way home from work.
The car seems to sputter/lagg when taking off from a stop but after it gets up to speed it runs fine. This is the only time it does that. Idle seems to be good too. I polled some codes from the car and the one that caught my eyes was code P0731. The reason is because when I'm at a full stop and take off, the car sputter/lagg only thru 1st gear up until it engage 2nd then it's fine from there. From what I found. Code P0731 = First gear incorrect ratio, sensor may be failing. Also on a cold start when I put in drive or reverse it doesn't engage right away and I have to let it sit in gear for about 10sec till I feel the car jerk forward/backwards a little as it should when your in gear. I will really really appreciate if someone can give me some advice on what might be causing this problem. Thanks and hope to hear from you guys.
