89 Deville with interior light problem
Not a major problem but my interior lights will not go out unless I put the key in the ignition and turn it to the On position.
Here is a typical scenario... as soon as I push the door latch to open the driver’s side door the interior lights come on... (That’s good). If I immediately close the door the interior lights will stay on permanently... (That’s bad). The interior lights will stay on until the battery runs out of juice (several hours later).
However, if I open the door and then put the key in the ignition and turn it to the on position (no need to start, just on) and then remove the key and close the door, the interior lights go out and stay out until I open the door again.
There doesn't appear to be anything wrong with the switch in the door as all other functions controlled by that switch work as they should.
Any ideas?
