Default 2004 DEVILLE INTERIOR LIGHTS

I noticed that the interior lights on my 2004 Deville do not turn on. They do not turn on when I use the RKE's to enter the vehicle, when I open any of the doors, or when I manually turn the **** for the dash lights all the way up to activate the interior lights. The map lights still work when turn them on one by one... I know that the door pin switches are working because the readout on the dash says when a door is ajar.

I haven't looked at the fuse box yet... Could it be the interior dome light fuse??

Blown fuse would be the easiest. RIM controls lighting you would have to dealer to have diagnosed.

Man, I'm having the same exact problem that jpr1978 is having. I checked all the fuses and there good. I've been looking up the RIM and I can't find any real info on it or where I can buy one on line. Any ideas? I feel jpr1978 pain on this one. The problem is driving me crazy!

I've seen a few people including myself andjpr1978 with this problem but no one can seem to help. I wonder ifjpr1978 is still around if he fixed his problem?

Where are the door pin switches? My front passenger door doesnt register unless the car is in gear. No lights, or door ajar warning otherwise. Renders my security system useless on this door.

I don't think that's the problem in my case. The lights won't turn on with the **** or with the keyless entry when it's dark.

Man, this sucks!!! I can't get any help on this problem. I'm almost desperate enough to bring it to the dealer. Well, if I had the $$$$ to thow away. This problem is kiling me. I spend so much time looking on line but I never find any help. I love the car but I can't stand the electrical problems. The last time I owned a GM car (Pontiac Grand Am), I swore I would never buy GM again because I had sooo many electrial problems with that car. I had the Computer replaced, the ABS computer replaced, multiple sensors replaced and a shorted wire that the dealer could'n't find (was charged anyway). I ended up bringing it to a small repair shop and the guy fixed it after around 10 hours of time. I guess I lucked out with it. The $3 piece of wire only cost me a litte over $400. He gave me a deal on labor because he felt bad. So far, here are the problems that I'm having with my car:

1. Almost all the light are burnt out on my strearing wheel.

2. Already had (2) window regulators go on me.

3. This killer electrical problem.

4. I have to turn on the Valet thing in my glove compartment because my truck poped open (4) time on it's own. Of course, one time durning rain. Man was I pissed.

5. Had a loose connector in my passenger door panel which caused the seat heat/cool indicator lights to not light up.

There's also another problems that I've been having but I can't remember. I justhate the thought of driving a real nice luxury car and have all these problems.

I noticed today that I don't get a door ajar or tone when I open any of the doors while the key is in the ignition or while the cars running. Weird? But, if I use the remote to unlock my doors, the head lights go out so the switch must be good, right? Also, if I'm in my car and turn the ignition off, the radio remains on untill the doors are open. This does seem to work so I'm really starting to think the door switches are good?? I don't know antmore about this car. Definetly not the quality I'd expect from a Luxury car. I guess I do expect it from a GM product.
