CTS back in shop, recreated the problem with the chief Tech. :-))). Engine went to 2700rpm before it decided to move forward. First CTS he has seen with morning sickness. Figures the seals are shot/torn/leaking and something about ac***ulators draining. Thank god for extended warrenty only have to pay 100 dollar deductable. Thanks again for the collective wisdom.

Glad they were able to duplicate the problem. Makes it soooo much easier to find the culprit when they actually believe there is a problem!!

Don't know if it will be an acc umulator issue, but...stranger things have happened! We do see a lot of acc umulator springs breaking on the 5L40Es, but that usually creates a harsh engagement/shift, not a delay.
Let us know what they find!

Default The rest of the story

From the Dealer:

Cause : Pump not Putting out enough press. 50psi.
all clutches burned
final drive sun gear damaged as well.

cost of parts three times cost of new transmission. Transmission replaced under warrenty.
Paid the $100 dollar deductable and said thank-you. the extended warrenty paid for its self.

Thank for the input.

Glad ya got it fixed, but I ain't buying the pump story, even tho it may have had some wear. Your problem was only occurring when cold, with the fluid thick. A worn pump is worn all the time, so you would have had an issue all of the time, not just when cold. In actuality, a worn pump would have made the problem worse when the fluid was hot.
It's all good, tho...they fixed it for ya, and yer back on the road!

Thanks for updating us on it!
