Default Tranny Problem

Hey guys, need help I got a 2000 Deville DTS, 157K on it runs good but it dont **** into overdrive. I have had the fluid changed, no shavings or anything, no codes with the exception to the p0335 crank sensor whick i am going to get done this week. It shift fine up to third then at about 45 it doesnt **** into overdrive. So i am going sabout 65 at 3K rpms, take my foot off the acelerator the rpm goes back down to about 1500, push on the gas the rpms raise up back to 3K then the car picks up speed again. If it was the shift solenoids wouldn't I be getting codes? Could it be a line or some type of sensor somewhere else that tells the car to shift. Any trouble shooting ideas? Last thing checking the tranny fluid. If i come out in the morning pull the stick I see no tranny fluid, you can look straight down, you see nothing, then you start the car let it heat up pull the stick you see the fluid then, is this normal?

I dont believe the shift solenoids give codes .. i could be wrong.

Also, make really sure that your fluid is to FULL capacity .. a #1 on why OD dont engage.

Solenoids should set codes. On-Board will not display all codes in 1996 and later cars you might try auto parts for free code reading. Does it slip in 4th or wont go in 4th.

Before you do anything else, if your dipstick shows you are down a pint I would try Dick Hussey's rec on reclaiming transmissions with a pint of transmission treatment.
