Default 2010 SRX Transfercase swap

Hello. Does anyone have any advice on how to swap the transfer case on a 2010 SRX AWD? It has the 3.0L. I already have the new unit and its on a hoist. I cannot get to the inner bolt on the transmission mount. I'm just a hobby mechanic not a licensed tech. The wife wants her car back and I'm stuck. I couldn't find anything online. Does the engine have to come out or is there some miracle shortcut? Thanks for any help.

wow what a crazy job.If anyone does it take the drivetrain out. I didn't but it would have been way easier. It can be done but the transmount and rear cat are a massive pain to get out. I tied the cat up as high as possible and make sure to drain both the trans and tcase. I also dropped rear of subframe to make room for the transmount to lift out of the way to get the center bolt in the bracket. Hope this helps anyone who is also dumb enuf to try it. But I saved over $700 in labor at the dealer.

Heres a better write up. After learning shortcuts on install its not the worst job if done in this order. I didn't have instructions (center bolt drove me nuts)

Lift up and remove driveshaft and exhaust Y and Front and Rear Cats and Drain Transmission (rear cat use flex socket and extension from below and tie up to top of motor)
Remove Right Front wheel and remove brakes and CV Axle
Remove both brackets to motor and loosen transmount to subframe bolts and remove center bolt from isolater
Swing isolater up to reveal center bolt and use shallow 15 socket from above bracket (I lowered rear of subframe for more room)
Remove the 5 bolts to Transmission
Rotate unit to loosen O Ring and pry apart and move to right side and lower Transfer Case
Install new O ring and do reverse install
Refill fluids, Do Diff before installing axle
Make sure to scrape Gaskets off the exhaust before installing NEW gaskets, Don't reuse or glue

GET NEW O-RING AND EXHAUST GASKETS AND APPROVED FLUIDS (one gasket was $67 cdn list at GM) so plan ahead, One was $17
Limited slip 75-90 (one quart) and Dex6 (5.5 quarts I think)
184 lb/ft Axle Nut

Its hard to break the bolts loose but it can be done. Refill Tcase and Trans with new fluids
