82 sedan deville axle swap
What other cars/years are good donors? I'm trying to help out a friend. Currently it has a 12 bolt 8.875? We are looking for a 7.5/7.625 10 bolt that will swap on with minimal modification since he has a gear set and limited slip differential for that axle

That axle never came in a B,C, or D body so it would have to be fabbed. The 78-81 A and the 82+ G bodies used control arms but had different widths. S & T truck and M & L vans used leaf springs. The 8.5 10 bolt would be a easier swap they replaced the 12 bolts in full size cars.

Thanks, Any guesses on what size a "round cover" axle would be out of fleetwood? Would that be the correct width and bolt up? I'm trying to get info from seller on the ring gear size but they haven't gotten back to me yet.
His current axle has a notch cover. I think it's pretty much junk, the two guys he had working on it cut the carrier to get the cross pin bolt out and i think the pinion gear got scrapped somehow too.

the round 10 bolt is 8.5 corporate axle. There are lots of race/HD parts available. Round 12 bolt chev 8 7/8 scalloped 12 BOPK 8 7/8. Cadillac did have a 9 1/4 mostly for limos and hearses. The corporate 10 bolt replaced the 2 different earlier 8.2 10 bolts.
