91 STS 4.9 non northstar, supercharger?
I am pretty sure my caddy doesnt have a northstar, but I will go on anyhow.
I am in hunt for power. After looking at the engine, a coventional intake doesnt look like it will work, the tb looks huge, and is on top.... 1st question, where do you get an intake for it?
Second, can I get a supercharger, like a weiand 8-71? Or even a turbo kit?
So, where can I get some parts to make her fast?

Matt, I havedone a bit of searching and will post some ideas later today. My original post on 4.9 performance is pretty valid. You've got a 200 HP factory engine there that is 16 years old so a supercharger is a good way to end it's life. I do think there a number of small things you can do without going into the engine that could yeild you up to 50 or so HP. The after market supply of go fast goodies is almost non existent for a Cadillac engine so innovation is the key here.

Thanks for the reply guys! My current engine is a jasper rebuilt. I plan on getting another 4.9, putting it on a stand with performance pistons, rods, mains..... The setup will be transfered onto that engine.

RE: 91 STS 4.9 non northstar, supercharger?
I sent Matt a message. Here is the shopping list for him:
1. Allante 4.5 intake and TB, made 200hp on a 4.5 which is 30 cubic inches smaller than a 4.9 which makes 200 HP. The most a Seville 4.5 made was 180 HP.
2. TB spacer
3. hi perfomance wires and ignition parts
4. Cold air intake
5.chip or computer or just advance the timing to 14 degrees ( that's what a chip would do anyway) stockis11 degrees I believe.
6. Good exhaust, use foxpaws set up on the Allante as a model
7. Lower final drive ratio, 3.71 preferred.
8. NOS shot for that quick get-a-way
By the way Matt, really like the look of the 91 Seville, they seem to be a bit forgotten and really don't see too many around. They have a reputation as a good handling and riding car and actually shared their platform with the Eldorado then.[sm=smiley20.gif]
