Default Electric supercharger

My cousin bought a crappy electric supercharger the other day, and I must say it looks like a piece of crap. There is no way these things can work, right?[/align]

I don't know what he bought but I am assuming it is a fan that installs in the air intake and is operated by a switch wired to the dash. I believe the theory is that the fan speeds up and cools the air charge into the intake so in theory you get more cooler air = horsepower. Why does a cold air induction sytem like a K&N claim more horsepower? Same idea, less restriction airfiter= more air& cooler air = horsepower. I have not seen your cousin's supercharger but the theory is good. When we were kids in High School we knew the theory too, drive dad's car out of sight, stop, pop hood, flip air cleaner lid, drive like a maniac the rest of the night.

LMFAO[sm=smiley36.gif] these things are also on ebay. i also have heard of peopleusing leaf blower motors to get the same effect. thats what i call Ricing out you ride. thats also like those so called chips on ebay that give 10-15 more horse power. when all you are doing is using a 25cent resistor and conecting it to the MAF sensor and all it does is cause your car to use more gas. IMO dont buy them. lol
