Oilpangasket
Hi!...My oil pan gasket is leaking, about 1-quart over 3 months.
Problem is, is whre it is leaking. Right over an exhaust pipe. One drop creates a lot of smoke and odor. Further problem I have a Northstar...a$1000 plus job. Anyone know how to fix the problem without pulling the engine out and replacing the gasket? I've tried the "best" stop leak. I thought about putting something between the oil pan and pipe to divert the oil directly to the ground. But the pipe fits into the pan underneathin a kinda U area, no working room around the
pipe. If I thought I wouldn't have any reason to pull the engine out in the next 3 years I'd just go ahead and fixit. But I'd hate to spend at least a thousand, then next year have to pull the engine out for something else...bummer!

RE: Oilpangasket
Well here's an $8 shot at it. Go and get some gasket sealer, the red stuff for high heat and try and run a bead around the pan gasket on the outside.I'd try and clean the area well first with a rag and possibly some solvent.
