Cadillac automatic transmission life
#11
Ive been reading about adding Lucas transmission fix. After reading many forums etc. I am kind of hesitant to add it to a transmission that is showing no problems. Anyone care to give more opinions on this? Like i said my transmission has 160,000 miles on it and is still working fine.

My 2001 DTS just had the 3rd gear clutch housing redone to include some things that come with the job. ALso had a bad motor mount, and water pump was leaking at the same time, so it also was replaced. All told the total came to $3790. Car has 82,000 on it.

i'm sorry if you get offended, but that is a irresponsible statement.
even ignoring all claims made by the makers of LUCAS .. we have "rescued" many cars, including many Allante transmissions with the LUCAS fix in the bottle .. a new car has no need for it, a car with mileage can and often shows a great deal of improvement.
most drivers cannot tell when their aging transmissions start to slip .. it is a very gradual change until serious slippage or clutch sticking occurs .. but they sure can tell the sudden improvement after using Lucas, within the 1st 10 miles of driving ...

ive lost 2 1991 4T60E's around 120-138k miles im in the process of pulling the working car's transmission and having it rebuilt, the working car's transmission wouldnt have went except it had a cooler leak, the lines rusted through and broke off while i was driving so the transmission burned up, my other car's transmission still "works" technically you just have to shift it manually into first to get it to move
