1993 Cadillac Allante Northstar 295 HP Engine under $100
93 Cadillac Allante Northstar 295 HP Engine - $95 (Longmont, Co.)Date: 2008-05-15, 9:17AM MDT
This is a 46,000 mile Northstar engine that was removed from my 93 Cadillac Allante because of a bad #7 Crankshaft bearing journal. This engine was not used after the noise from the bearing was detected, thus all other internal parts are in great shape. It was replaced by a new engine, then partially disassembled and all parts put in 4 plastic crates for storage. It was my intention to purchase an aftermarket Crankshaft, new bearings and gaskets, and then rebuild this engine for future use. I have since that time sold the car, and no longer have a use for this engine. Local pickup only! Please call 303-709-6490

Well, it is my engine now - next winters project - I think turbocharging it will be the way to go.
Great engine - perfectly stored - cylinders as smooth as glass - pistons perfect (except #7 bearing) - timing gears and chains pristine - crankshaft has to go - because of failed bearing - plugs, wires, water pump, everything is there except the starter and engine covers - and I won't need the covers if I turbocharge it.
And for far less than a Ben Franklin...
Woo Hoo - now the hot rod project can really begin...
even I could lift the block
heads look great and so do the holes in the block - shouldn't have to timesert it...
pistons well protected - and very smooth and clean
timing gears and chains look great
bad, bad crankshaft...
bad bearing
miscellaneous parts and covers
engine in plastic tubs...
