Default 1976 ElDorado Bumper filler

I have a 1976 Eldorado I'm in the process of getting back in great shape. it's really in pretty good shape as it is, 16,500 miles, no rust, runs good.

My next step is replacing bumper fillers front and back. I'm looking for suggestions, vendors and lessons learned. Thanks for the help.

I tried searching but only found one threan from some time ago offering advice.

There was a company making those filler pieces out of fiberglass a while back. Don't know if they are still available, tho. I was going to get a set for the '78 Fleetwoood I had at the time, but never did.
Seems like I have also seen some repros in the original type urethane, too. Haven't looked for them in years, tho, so....

You may want to edit your post, and correct the Title....the 1796 might be keeping folks from looking at the thread.

Then again...that's what made ME have a look!

Ha, yes, excellent point,,,yes, it's a 76.

I ended up getting a set from usapartssupply.com. The shop I checked with recommended I try and shy away from fiberglass and they actually had a number of parts I might need in the future. Full set for both front and rear was just over $700 shipped.

I'm happy, but hope they don't end up sucking.

I'll post a review when they come in.

Wow!! They're PROUD of those things, ain't they? $700?!?

Well....if ya gotta have 'em, ya gotta have 'em I guess. I'd definitely like to know how well they're made, and how they feel.

The 'glass ones are definitely harder to work with, and they will not deform in the event of a bump, as the urethane ones will.
