Default cold shivering weather

I wanna be a journalist ! ! !

water freezes at 32 degrees F ...

Wind chill: the apparent temperature felt on exposed skin, which is a function of the air temperature and wind speed.
solution: cover up! Even a garbage bag or a wind breaker will neutralize the "wind chill"

A 21-year-old camper in So Ca was found shivering from exposure after wandering from her campground tent early Tuesday, authorities said. She was reported to dressed in shorts and a tank top and prone to sleepwalking. park rangers followed footprints in the mud which lead authorities to her, about 200 yards from the campground. Some Californians took it as just another winter day, even in the states extreme mountain weather where thermometers bottomed out at 38 degrees and the National Weather Service said the wind chill was a shocking 18 degrees.

A man in northern Wisconsin died from exposure after wandering from his Hayward home early Tuesday, authorities said. He was reported missing and said to be prone to sleepwalking. deputies followed footprints in the snow to find the man about 190 yards from his house, Sawyer County Chief Deputy Tim Zeigle said. Some Minnesotans took it as just another winter day, even in the states extreme northwest corner where thermometers bottomed out at 38 degrees below zero at the town of Hallock and the National Weather Service reported the wind chill was a shocking 58 below.

Default Winter forecast at the National Weather Service

It was late fall, weather turning, and the Indians on a remote reservation in South Dakota asked their new Chief if the coming winter was going to be cold or mild.

Since he was a Chief in a modern society, he had never been taught the secrets of the ancestors. When he looked at the sky, he couldn't tell what the winter was going to be like, he had no clue.

Nevertheless, being the Chief, to be on the safe side, he told his tribe that the winter was indeed going to be cold and that the members of the village should collect firewood to be prepared.

But, being a modern practical leader, he got on the phone, called the National Weather Service and asked, 'Is the coming winter going to be cold ?'

'It looks like this winter is going to be quite cold,' the meteorologist at the weather service responded.

So the Chief went back to his people and told them to collect even more firewood in order to be well prepared.

A week later, he called the National Weather Service again. 'What the current forecast for the winter?'

The National Weather Service again replied, 'it's going to be a very cold winter.'

The Chief again went back to his people, informed them that the winter will be colder than he had previously beleived. Collect every scrap of firewood, he told them.

Two weeks later, the Chief called the National Weather Service again. 'Are you sure that the winter is going to be very very cold?'

'Absolutely,' the man in charge replied. 'It's looking more and more like it is going to be one of the coldest winters we've ever seen.'

'How can you be so sure?' the Chief asked.

The National Weather official replied, 'We have been advised that the Indians in the Reservations are collecting firewood like crazy and they are usually right.'
