Hello again!
Good to be back. Had a Deville and sold it a few years ago. Just picked up an 05 that appears to have been babied most of its life. Time will tell. Thanks ahead of time for the shared knowledge. Call me Krazee.

That's the key to a Cadillac's longevity: CARE. Don't neglect ANY repair, keep fluids clean, etc and it will stay alive! Not to mention, if you keep it in great condition for the next 16 years, it MAY start appreciating, as it is a collectible. The 2005 Deville is the last Cadillac to have a hood ornament, and the last GM to allow you to see all the engine codes (instead of interpreting flashing lights).
I have a 2002 Deville (base), and it only needs one thing: rear shocks. I get different opinions about the oil pan gasket, bearings, and tie rods, so I have no idea which is bad. I know it needs a Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid, but it is $1750 labor for a $50 part, and it doesn't affect the engine/transmission all that much.
