Default window not fitting.

the drivers side window on a 1999 eldorado jumps over the guide at the top of the auto when you close the door. as soon as you roll the window down half an inch it goes back in place perfectly. thanks for the help.

something has probably worn with use.

usually a track but often the pins for levers inside the dooor panels.
a worn pin will allow a side shift and push to the wrong direction.
i be checking the play.

assuming there is nothing new in the track that gets in the way of the glass.

If I am not mistaker there are clips that hold the window into the track. One of those is probably broken. Not a hard repair if you can get the door panel off and you have small hands to work in there....you will have to drill a rivet out and replace it to get the guide out.
