TPMS help!!!!
So long story short I tow A LOT, and mostly around 6500 pounds. The truck came with 22" rims which just didn't work for the weight that I am towing. I went with a light truck tire which has deeper treads and a larger tire wall so it can hold the weight and get as much traction as possible. The tire HAS to be inflated to 60 psi when towing ( which is every day ) and the warning is being displayed in the info center in dash that the tired are way over inflated etc etc, and I even have OnStar calling now!!!! I went to the dealership and the said I have to basically deal with it, or inflate/deflate the tired when towing and not towing. There HAS to be a way around this!!! They also said that can't re-programm the truck to think that 60 is ok, but I'm thinking they can it's just a liability... Please help!
Just because you have a "larger tire wall" doesnt necessarily mean it will handle the weight. The tire ply count is what tires use for strength. If you have to deal with the Onstar and warning lights, you chose the wrong rig to pull with. As for reprogramming, I highly doubt you can do that after its been set at the factory in the computer since this rig wasn't intended to pull a weight of 3 tons +. Buy a pickup.
My last Escalade was perfect. I figured there was most likely some improvements, not a POS. There has been nothing but problems. The last Escalade I had they were able to turnit off. And I am NOT getting a truck I need an SUV. And the type of tire I am usign has a great effect on towing. The stock tires, and the tires I have on my foose rims make the rear end sway and the traction control to trip out. The Light Truck tires prevent that and reduce the stress on the non-light truck tires. Think about what your saying before you post next time
