TPMS - How Does it work?
Greetings Everyone,
I have a 2002 DeVille with TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System). I don't know how they work. I am in the process changing my 2002 cadillac chrome rims to factory 2005 Alloy rims for the winter. The new rims don't have valve stems or TPMS sensors. Can I take my TPMS sensors off the chrome wheels and put them on the alloy wheels, or are the permanently attached? If I put the new rims on without the TPMS sensors what happens to the DIC (Dashboard Computer)? Does is read zero, error, or nothing? Do I need to replace all the valve stems?
Thanks for the help,
Chris

RE: TPMS - How Does it work?
yea u can put the tpms in the new wheels. if u put valve stems instead of the tpms ur tpms light will come on on the dash board.
u might have to reset ur tpms
the tpms light just comes on when one of ur tires is less than like 30 or 25 psi to let u know u have a low tire. i work on tires i do this all the time.
