Default synthetic oil life

i recently changed my oil and i decided to switch to synthetic oil. Ive been told that the oil will last twice as long as regular oil. I usually change my oil every 4 or 5k miles. Can i easily run this synthetic oil 10k miles or is it more like 7k or 8k miles? It the mobil 1 stuff. They had the extended life that says 15k miles but i bought the plain synthetic stuff.

Oil life is effected by operating conditions - Load, operating temp, and climate. When outside temp is above 90 or below 30 F. oil life will click off quicker. Short trips where engine never reaches operation temp or for a few minutes be for parking again and those who stay in bumper to bumper traffic will also click off faster. Overheating will click it off fastest. If you are in area where the weather stay mild, there is not much traffic, and you drive 10 miles or more with minimal stops oil life will be longest. On regular oil average for most new cars is around 6k. I suggest to use that number with your Mobil 1 also, changing oil also removes contaminates from engine which generally increase as engine age and mileage increase.
