I picked up a 95 Eldorado Base Coupe over the weekend. One issue I am having with it is with the Security Light. It stays on all the time. I've searched the message boards but haven't seen anything here that specifically states the problem I have. I pulled the codes, but the only one that came up was P067 related to cruise (which doesn't work, but that's a different project). The door locks work properly from inside the car. They lock when going in to gear and unlock when put in park. However, from the KRE, it will not lock the doors. The other functions do work. I'm sure sure where to start and was hoping someone here could give me some direction. Let me know if you need any more information.

A new car for you .. Lets start fresh.

Disconnect the battery for 15 minutes (reboot all the computers).
then CLEAR ALL CODES ...

now, report back.

Q:
you do have a owner's manual, right?
you will get a FSM, right?

 

Where is the best place to get a FSM? I'll reset the computer after I get off work. I should have, but hadn't thought of that yet.

 

when i need one, i usually go to ebay and hunt one down .. usually $30 to $60 ...

search for < factory manual 1995 eldorado >
that is what the DEALER TECHS use.
it may be a two volume set.

 

Cool. I've had them for several other cars I've owned but the source I was using isn't available anymore.

 

Okay, I finally got home and disconnected the battery and reset the computer. Got in and pulled the codes off. P052, P109, and I052. I was all excited to find out what was wrong. I ran in here to the computer and looked the codes up. They are all codes pertaining to losing battery power. Nice. I will update this thread if it sets something.

After two days of driving since the reset, no new codes have appeared. Any ideas on why the security light would stay on?
