REAR BRAKE PADS
does any body know how to depress the piston into its bore on a 1997 cadillac deville cause I use a C-clamp on mine its stif and I disconected the brake hose, detatch the parking brake from the lever its stillstif can I get some help please?
i belive you have to screw the pistons back in, there should be two notches cut into the pistons, and there is a tool (brake cube) that will fit into these and tighten them in, it takes quite a few turns to get them all the way back in
the C-CLAMP works well in the front calipers but not in the rear calipers.
at least not in the Allanté. no amount of pressing will move the piston.
for the REAR calipers, i got a little spanner wrench type of tool to retract the
rear pistons, tool # K-D 3163, which is a little metal cube that
attaches to a 3/8" drive and has lugs that fit into the slots on the pistons.
the tool is used in the Allanté, dont know what other Cadillacs it fits.
lol
