I just got my first Caddy, a 01 Seville STS. While inspecting it I noticed that the negative battery cable has a small wire that separates from the main cable. What is it supposed to connect to? Mine just hangs there with nothing to connect it too. Also my reading lamps and sunroof controls do not work and was wondering whether that could be related.

 

Well I found it. With the back seat cushion removed there is a small black wire that comes out of the plastic covering that encases a bunch of cables toward the center of the vehicle. It looks like someone broke it while removing the battery. Now I need to find the name of it so I can replace it properly.
