My daughter's idiot boyfriend was messing around with the navigation on her 06 SRX and somehow dumped the firmware. Tried both the original v.7 West map disk, and the copy I made, but they just get ejected and a message is displayed that says "Caution: Cannot load system software. Disk type incorrect. Please insert correct system disk." Display stays in down position, no radio, no anything. Am I missing something here? Is there something simple to fix?...Or is this going to be the usual I need more money than I have thing?
