Question motors

i have a chance to buy a 96 sedan deville,i was wondering if this motor would fit in my 95 sls,not sure of the engine code on the 96 will post later,and the trans also.

Engine should swap if they're both "Y". You will need to transfer cross over and probably intake. 96 is maf 95 uses map, are biggest differences. Basic long block is the same. Trans is another matter several changes during the early years. Trans codes may help, but I don't think it will be compatible between OBD I & II

Electric transmission, OBD II vs. I. The computer is very different and operates about 2 times the speed of OBD I. OBD II also requires more monitoring of things. Early 4T80-e did not have that many issues....Shift solenoids mainly.
