Default Hydraulics on my trunk

Hello fellow owners,

I recently bought a 2004 CTS. Love it.

I have noticed one problem however - the trunk. It releases alright when I push the button on the key fob, but I have to struggle to lift it up. Shouldn't it slide right up, just like on other cars?It takes some work on mine, and if I don't get it all the way to the top, it'll close on me. Does someone know of a way to service what I guess are hydraulic cylinders on the trunk?

Default RE: Hydraulics on my trunk

There is a revised (larger) trunk support which is available from the dealer. It's designed for revised hinges, however they can be persaded to work original hinges.
