high fans not turning (updated)
Hi,
I've finally linked my 'faulty temperature' gauge to a cause. Neither cooling fan is turning on in my car, at any time. I've swapped out the radiator fan relay and the auxiliary radiator fan relay and the two fans still failed to turn on.
Because both fans are not running, I think it would be unlikely that both fan motors would be dead at the same time, though that's obviously a possibility. Can anyone direct me on what I should be checking before I try to replace the fan motors? Fuses? sensors?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Unfortunately I've been driving the car like this for quite a while... the problem may date all the way back to last summer. The car has never overheated and I'm not losing any coolant, so I'm happy about that.
The car is an 01 DHS, 88000 miles.

RE: high fans not turning (updated)
His car does have a BCM but it does not control the Cooling fans. The PCM commands them on. Check your fuses. if you find one is blown. Checked for continuity to the cooling fan to the fuse if it is o.k. most likley faulty fan assm.
