Default Need help locating outside air temp sensor--'88 coupe

I thought is was located in the air cleaner box under the air filter, but I looked and did not find it there. I'm pretty sure this is the problem with his ac. His outside air temp gage reads -40* or something like that, so this is keeping his compressor from kicking on, right? I am new to this forum, so if this is beating a dead horse or the wrong forum, please point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

Outside temp sensors are usually located in the grille area. If it is -40* then yes this would keep the compressor from coming on. If I am not mistatke open the hood and you should see it somewhere near the latch. Its been awhile since i have messed with 88-93.
