yay
WOOHOO! Its running! I got to the car friday morning, Drained the oil, Gas tank(not easy mind you), and the coolant. Filled up the radiator cold, Added new oil and filter, Air Filter, and topped off the brake fluid just for good measure, Replaced the battery.
Now here is where the back yard mechanic comes in handy, so we didnt have any first time contaminants from the fuel lines until I can blow them out and make sure there isnt anything nasty in there, we unhooked it at the carb and ran a hose strait from there to a full gas can, I had a freind hit the key and after 3sec of cranking she fired right up!
Sat, I got back to work, got the air compressor goin and blew out all the fuel lines to get rid of the old nasty gas and what ever else was growing in there, hooked it back up to the tank and the carb and fired her up again, she starts just as easy im sure as the day she rolled out of the factory.
Sun, since it was easter and the whole fam would be at the folks place, I couldn't resist...so I drove her to dinner, oh man did I turn some heads. I dont know if everyone was looking at the car or the big guy in the front seat smilin like a dork, but who cares I was drivin a 69 caddy!
Im so excited! now what I need to do is figure out how to redo the vinyl on the roof, i've done seats and door panels before but this is new to me, anyone have any idea where I may be able to find a How-To on this subject?
Thanks for the help guys!

That really is awesome.
I would love to see some pictures of it! 1969 is one of my favorite years for cars in general. Grand Prix, Camaro, AMX, I had one of each.
Nice job getting it up running let alone driving it.
Taking a car that old that has sat that long can be frustrating at the least, and from what I have read, you did it justice.
Just be sure to get around to bleeding all the brakes etc. as soon as possible. Brake fluid could take on moisture in the old days and rust components internally. You may want to drain the tranny, fluids and a filter will do it fine also.
Once again congrats.
