Im hoping you can help yet once again. (you guys are great)
I get a PO340 and 341 code every time I start the engine. I can clear the code but it comes back the next time I start it. I know its the crank sensor but I just had it replaced lastyear and the damm thing was fixed for about 2 months then came back again. Occasionally the car is almost impossible to start but after many on and off cranks it always does. I also get idle surging almost all the time. My question is, can I replace the sensors or do es it need to be done at a dealer?? Bye the way it is a 2001 De ville. I am reasonably mechanicaly adept. do you need special tools??

 

I also got the PO340 which is camshaft position sensor circuit malfunction error. I just replcaed mine with new crank sensor and it's back to normal again.
