Cool A/C intermittent

Help,
The a/c comes on & does fine; then out of clear blue
It causes controls to lock - like the lights in CP
Go off & no power to blower or temp or volume to radio;
But if already on It still blows cold air & radio still plays.
If a/c is off and try turn on all of it may not come on; then it may
Come on a little later. You can tell by lights on CP.
Dealer says no recall; & cannot find cause when left it may or
May not work at time. I have just left the a/c in On position & radio on.
What to do. ?

I appreciate the quick reply.
Do the error codes stay or do you have to
Catch it when it happens. Thanks
