Default Bose Gold system

Hey folks,
My '94 SLS has the Bose Gold CD/Tape/Stereo that has developed a really high-pitched squeal after being on for a few minutes. The squeal is coming from all of the speakers, not just one, and it does it not matter what part of the system(CD/Tape or radio) is on. It starts off low in volume, then steadily gets louder, to the point of having to just turn the dang thing off. I feel like this is something heat related, since it doesn't immediately start squealing...it only starts after the unit has been on for about 5-10 minutes.
I'm not at all good with troubleshooting stereo stuff, but I'm fairly sure this is not an amp problem...or is it? Each speaker has it's own stand-alone amp, right?
I'm just trying to find out if I need to replace the head unit, or is there something else that needs replacing. This is Mama's car, and she never uses the stereo anyway, but I drive it on weekends when we go out runnin around, and it's driving me NUTZ!
Any ideas, other than replacing the entire system with aftermarket would be appreciated.
Thanks!

if you look in our Allante section you will find a similar issue with BOSE, failed capacitors in the amp section of each speaker.

in the past BOSE had a program to deal with this issue .. i suggest a call to them and maybe they will even replace them .. they did replace mine years ago at nominal cost.

Tanx...I'll take a look. Hard to believe that all four would take a dump at the same time, tho. Then again...

Its not that all 4 took a dump at the same time, it's 1 can effect the others. The receiver mounts near the antenna, Check connectors and grounding, that would be simplest solution. There are also 2 relays for the amps. Do you have FSM or access to service info? You could try disconnecting speakers to see if noise is caused by aparticular speaker. The other deal with the built in amps - when 1 fails, all too often the others fail shortly afterword, so you can savor the pain for 6 or 8 mo.s as you send one after another out for repair all while hearing " I THOUGHT YOU FIXED IT"
