Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. We have a 99 Catera that was abandoned at a foreclosed property. Quick rundown of the info I know: Plates expired by 1 1/2 years. Battery in it purchased 7 / 2011 (so only 1 year old). There are no keys. I charged the battery and it has headlights, interior lights but the word SECURITY is flashing on the dash. I'm trying to figure out if this thing will run before i start throwing money at it. First thing I thought was maybe a bad computer. HELP!

 

I figured someone on this sight would have seen the word SECURITY on thei dash before. If i can't get it running easily I will be selling it as parts. Any insight would be great!

 

Does anyone know if you can check for codes without the vehicle running?
