My guess is you don't use parking brake much,and when you did actuator stuck in the applied position. It it possible to rebuild caliper youself however,re-man calipers usually cost less than the parts required to repair calipers that have parking brake actuators built into the pistons.So get a re-man caliper(s) its suggested to replace in pairs,and use parking brake atleast weekly to lessen the chance it will happen again.

 

Was lookin on ebay at calipers... Anyone know if the calipers from pre '98 will fit? or where I can find that info? Thanks

 

Most likely not, 1998 was the first year of redesign which ran til 04. It is not recommended to use used brake parts,most of the time something bad happened to make the used.Hope it helps
