Hey guys,

My name is mike and I just purchased my first cadillac. Very good product and I am really excited about the purchase. Everything works except for 1 thing. There is a light under the hood that I cant seem to get activated. I replaced the bulb and looked at the fuses but for the life of me I cant figure out what else could be wrong with it. Do you guys have any suggestions on my next step towards getting it fired up? Thanks for the help and I will do a brief introduction after awhile.

 

Check to make sure that lite base has good ground connection to hood. This lite I believe is on the lighter circuit, so checkthat fuse . Put tester on the 12v wire to see if it is live.

 

Under hood lamp is powered by 10a fuse in trunk fuse block. Fuse will marked LT PARK, exterior lights will have to be on for lamp to work.

 

Turn on at least the parking lights. The light should be on then.

 

LOL, so I tried all your suggestions and actually had some fun checking fuses but carnut saw right through this scenario as I was unaware that you had to turn the light on to get it to work. Whats funny is that is probably one of the most useless features because I think it makes no sense to have to turn it on when everyother car comes on automatically when the hood opens. But thanks for the help guys and Im currently gathering pics of my new car for the intro.
