Default 96 Eldorado Wont Start

I've been trying everything so I guess it's time to post my situation. OK here goes...again(tried on 3 other posts lol)....
I have been noticing for a couple weeks that the power is going lower and lower and yet I have a new battery (optima yellow top). The last time I drove my car (4/18/08) I noticed after it started the cluster had no power. So I drove back home and turned it and tried to restart it with no avail.
I checked battery power, fuses, and even charged the battery until it was even at 13.8V. My deck and my amps turn on and also the locks work when I put the key in the ignition. Im wondering if that maybe my alternator is going out and in turn slowly started killing my battery, then this inturn reset a security sytem in my car. My question is does anyof this sound right or is there something im looking over??? And if this is the best possible solution how do I go about it. PLEASE HELP !!

No i didnt look up any codes yet that would be very smart.... I changed the battery because I got a system that pushes 1400 watts and draws more power. Is my idea plausible that there is some sort of stock security system on it that get reset and i just cant figure it out?

Not sure about your symtoms but the altenator would be a good place to start. Also a bad negative connection could cause the same problem. Autozone has a tool to check your charging system and it is free.
