Default 91 Brougham, 5.7L, Throttle position sensor

Would the TPS cause hesitation from a stop and "bogging" when increasing throttle at speed, hiway or around town, and is it adjustable?

Thanks,

Vince

Yes, it is possible that sensor could be bad, but the symptoms you mentioned could be cause by several things: Low fuel pressure, clogged fuel filter, weak ignition output, ignition module not operating properly, bad MAF or MAP sensor and many others. If the TPS is failing it usually throws a code. It is also adjustable though not how you may be thinking it is. It is adjustable enough to get it calibrated properly to where the computer thinks it should be. There is only one correct position. Before you waste your time swapping the TPS out, refer to these instructions on testing it:

Part 1 -TPS Test: GM 4.3L, 5.0L, 5.7L (96-06) P0121, P0122, P0123.

That site comes in quite handy for alot of sensor testing procedures so I encourage any of you to explore the site. Those instructions refer to 5.7 in the trucks but the sensors all test similarly. Also Youtube videos are available to show you how to test it so don't forget those. Search "Test GM TPS"
