I am currently trying to re-assemble the steering column after tightening some lose bolts at the base of the column...My problem began when I began to install the locking-plate and c-ring back into place. I rented the tool from Autozone but I am finding it impossible to keep the floating shaft from pulling out of the column. I cannot get any leverage on the tool in order to force down the locking plate...This **** is pissing me off. There must be something that I am doing wrong or perhaps I have the incorrect tool?
