1999 eldorado headlights
Hi all, I have a 1999 Eldorado and I have been having the same problem for over 2 years now...My headlights keep failing, the relays keep blowing and noone can figure out whats wrong. The dealer had it,replaced all the relay switches(1,000$ later)a few months later no headlights, when you pull the hibeams on, you get nothing.(Foglights and running lights ok) I had a privet guy work on it 3 times..same results. Now its at an electric shop for the second time..Does anyone have any idea why these relays keep blowing?? I love my Eldo and its in top condition(except this lighting issue) Please help if you can...Thanks

RE: 1999 eldorado headlights
this is not conclusive, but relays, fuses, and filaments burn out with
either power surges that can overload or LOW voltage which increases
the line load
a car has TWO power sources.... battery and alternator
after wiring and connectors (including GROUNDS & SHORTS) , the next item
in frequency of problems with electricals is the power source.
assuming your battery can steadily produce acceptable voltage, next in line
is the charging system - alternator being the main unit.

RE: 1999 eldorado headlights
I called the guy working on my Eldo and he has taken the relay switches off and found corrosion on one of them. This isnt the first time for the corrosion issue. were is the relay box located? and what could we do to prevent the corrosion?
