Default 1994 Fleetwood Problems

Back in 2004 I went and looked at a 1994 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham with the 5.7 liter fuel injected V8. The car drove perfect, and I told the owner I could pick it up in a week. Went to get the car and it ran like crap. It was missing badly and white smoke was pouring out. The car stalled on me once and left me sitting for awhile, but I was able to get it started and get back home. The next morning, it would turn over, but not start. It was getting spark and trying to fire. I gave up on it and there it sat. Yesterday, I put some new gas and a battery in it and tryed to start it. I put the pedal to the floor and turned the key and it started right up, but was running like before (turned the grass behind it black). I left it running for about an hour, cleaned it up, and it seemed to be running slighty better. When I got home today, I tried to start it and it was turning over and trying to fire, but no matter what I did it would not start. I tried using the on board diagnostic test and it didn't give me a code. Hopefully someone out there can tell me what is wrong.

Hey Shilo: If I were you I would start by getting a recon, ECM. This will narrow down a lot of things when it comes to rich fuel and running rough. Did the trick for mine and the ECM was only about $160. You will have to change out the prom and calpac from your old ECM to the new one. Good luck.

White smoke= water. That or someone did a seafoam in the gas tank treatment and fouled the plugs. I bet you have fouled a few plugs from a leaky headgasket. thats why the car is missing (running rough) and rich in fuel because of the fouled plugs. Pull the plugs and find the wet one/ones and replace. or throw new plugs in and get it started then diagnois where the water is coming from.
