Starter is under intake. It would be good idea to have intake gaskets available and possible spacer(s). Gaskets are designed to be re-used, but it is a 16yr old car. Its not really a job for a novice alone. If your are care full you can take the 4 bolts that hold intake down out and using a block of wood to hold passenger side of intake up high enough to remove starter without completely disconnecting / removing intake.

woo woo..... are you sure you have a starter problem???? has your car when starting, turn slow at times?? have you tryed to jump?? have you checked battery???
usually when starter goes you will have some type of warning as stated above. when it gets real bad, sometimes it wont turn, and the next minute it will...
hope it helps... keep the forum posted please..... let us know wad-up

okay... what kind of climate do you live in, and where is the car from climate wise. you said you had battery checked, im thinking its okay, right? you maybe on the right path as far as ignition. has that ever been changed, that you know?
really, it seems that you have a draw on your battery some where.... have you check connections??? grounds -, and positives + ???? is there anything left on? check all and get back... miles on car please?? how long have you owned the car???

rickyd

still could be starter though..... as i asked in last post, " have you ever felt the starter drag?" drag = crank slower than normal..

good luck dude.... keep us posted

Search "no start". Check condition of battery cables.

one more thing?

read our thread on e-ghosts, in the FAQ section i believe.
for all you know, its a connector issue and that thread will enlighten you on the what to do at next to zero cost.

jump it and take it to autozone. they can check both your battery and alternator. if there is no corrosion on batter cables and posts and the alternator and battery are good, it would most likely be the starter
