Today while driving, my fuel gauge went from 9 gallons, to empty. I suspect a faulty fuel gauge sending unit. Am I correct? I then added an additional 8 gallons, and it still reads empty.[&o]

 

My '00 DHS did the same. It was, as you suspect, the sending unit--in the tank.

 

I had the same problem in my 01 Corvette. GM replaced the sending unit twice. It's never happened again...after the 2nd time.

Hi sir william, I'm having similiar problem with my 94 deville. It was fine in the morning that afternoon the fuel gauge was flashing E and the mileage left was 1.0. Also my gas door now does not work electronically. Did it cost you $$$ to repair it. Thanks...my94cad
