Why is my fuel guage bouncing around from full to empty and sometimes it looks like it might be right? Any ideas?

 

My '00 DHS had exactly this problem about six months ago. I took it to my favorite Caddy Specialist. It was the sender unit in the gas tank. Cost about $500 to fix, due to the labor of dropping the tank etc. Expensive part too. It has worked perfectly since then. Get it fixed; I doubt if it's something you can tackle yourself.
