Default fng, have a question

my parents have two caddys, 96 sedan deville and 02 sedan deville. i've been elected to replace the thermostat on the 96(northstar v-8) n e 1 have the repair manual specs or simple walk thru. i am a mechanic but have never worked on the northstar engine. it is tagged as a 12/95, i don't know if that makes a difference. thanx in advance for any and all info.

Often, many cars are made before the year model. example .. a '88 getting made in late '87.

I dont expect different stats for a Northstar.
Not sure why the stat is being repalced .. may i ask why?

of much higher priority on a 11 year old car is to replace the coolant and hoses, but specially the coolant if it has not been changed out within the past two years ... see our FAQ for info.
