check engine light '07 STS
I bought the last '07 STS v8 from my local dealer earlier this month. WHile sitting in the dealer parking lot adjusting the driver 1 position, the check engine light came on. After checking the gas cap, my salesman took it to the garage. after 3 hours they put me in a demo because "the battery had gone dead while on the showroom floor so they had to reprogram the modules". WHen I picked it up afew days later, the check engine light came on as I pulled into my driveway. Onstar diagnostic indicated o2 sensor signal, but said it was OK to drive if performance was not affected, which it was not. But, an occassional stinky smell, more like an old sock than rotten eggs, comes thru the vents in the cockpit. THe engine light went off after a couple of days, then came back on again. THis time Onstar indicated a fuel mix issue, again said it was OK to drive. Light went off overnite, but still an occassional smell. THe next time the light came on I took it back to dealer and they put me in a rental. Any thoughts or suggestions to help my local caddy dealer would be greatly appreciated!

Rule #1; see Rule #1!! Thanks guys; dealer says it's fixed, I'll quiz them up about codes when I pick it up this evening and report back with all the pertinent details.

yes, let us know what was it.
#1.
State the problem in its completness and correctness, the car model and year, etc.
When it is a driveability mal-fuction relating to engine/trani/drivetrain,
provide the CODES, always provide the CODES! Buy, borrow, rent a code
reader. CODES PLEASE !
Well, I got to pick up my car at the end of the day but did not get the codes. The tech said they replaced an air mix box that apparently had a crack in it that wasallowing too much air to get in. I really appreciate this forum and wish I had found it before I tookthe carin for service, but I now know how to gather the codes and have printed the instructions off for retrieving them if I ever need them again. 2007 STS 4.6L Northstar V8 VVT 1SE w/6 CD Bose5.1, NAV, sunroof, 18" 4WhlABS Perf Discs, Ebony. Lovin the Caddy!
