rconn16...i can reach the mirrorbolts to my 99 sts through the sil strip (rubber doorseal)of the door, in front of the mirror. that would be to remove the wholemirror. im not sure what you are doing? is the glass broke and needs replaced? remember that mirror is probobly heated. if you have a glass place in your area, i would think they could assist in replacing the mirror, if thats what you are doing.....give us a little more info as to what you need to do........anyway welcome to the Forum, and good luck

Just been there on my 1995 STS...someone stole the glass and the back plate that attached to the motor drive arms.
If the glass is broken you can buy a new piece of mirror on Ebay (apprx. 15.00) it just silicones over your broken one. However, if youhave a heated mirror or the light sensi-optoin they will no longer work! I went to an auto recycler and bought a complete mirror andpulled the glass and plastic back plate off from the 3 control arms (ball joints) reconnected the wires for the heated mirror and light sensi option that are connected to the back of the mirror and I was back in business.
