Hi, Does anyone know how to remove the mechanized mirror assy. from the drivers side mirror housing on a 1999 Deville? My mirror seems to be leaking fluid or has fluid in it making it impossible to see through. I removed the mirror housing from the vehicle but the mirror mechanism doesnt seem to want to come out of the housing. Any help would be greatly appretiated.

We don't take them apart. They get replaced as an assembly.
You can separate the pieces, but it requires pulling hard and risking destroying the mirror.

 

FLCaddytech thanks for the info, I replaced the assembly and all is well. For any others with this problem keep in mind that mirrors from other models and years may look the same but the wiring harnesses are quite different. I ended up purchasing more than one on e-bay because of this problem. Otherwise replacement was pretty straight forward.
