Hi,
I just had a few questions on the 1985 cadillac seville.First,when the headlights are on,all the dash lights work except the speedometer and gear selector lights.I have taken apart the dash and all the bulbs are good but still no lights.Second,the radio works fine but only the left side front and rear speakers work.They have a stereo speaker relay available.Could this be the problem and next where is it located.Third and my final question,The cruise control not functioning,there is power to the switch on the dash,but I cannot tell if the switch on the column is working.I have checked all the fuses and relays unless I am missing something that maybe one of you guys or gals can help me with.Thanks for your time,Bob J.

 

You've removed the speedo cluster and verified power to the printed circuit board? Is this a digital read out dash? cruise control operation is a metal rod from the throttle body to a large vacuum servo behind driver side of engine. squeeze the servo to verify the rod moves the throttle arm. If so, check the 3 vacuum hoses connected to the servo, kinked, split, off? if all ok, ck the vacuum hose connected under the dash to the brake light switch, off, split, switch misadjusted? If this is a BOSE radio, it has a relay, if not, no relay.

 

This speedo is a PITA as you probably know. Easier to remove if steering column dropped a few inches. The bulb that lights up the shifter pointer is easily disconnected as you reinstall the cluster, watch out! If I recall there are 4 bulb sockets for speedo illumination. On the cruise switch, amber lite means power to it, once engaged, you should see a green lite above the amber.

 

Thanks for the info,stock delco am/fm casette radio,speedometer is not digital. I will check the cruise unit Friday.Thanks again.
